How do I add a deposit to an invoice?

Open the invoice (B2B or private) and click the "Add a deposit" button. Enter the amount excluding VAT, choose the VAT rate, the date and the status (Paid by default). Ledgerly creates a separate deposit invoice, numbered ACP-, linked to your invoice. You can add several deposits to the same invoice.

Where are deposits deducted on my invoice?

Each deposit appears in a block below the invoice totals, with the deducted amount and a link to the deposit invoice. The "Net to pay" line shows the balance still due after deducting all deposits. Your service lines are never modified, keeping the layout clear for your client, including on the PDF.

What happens to my invoice when I add a paid deposit?

If your invoice was a draft and the deposit is marked paid, it automatically moves to Sent status (its number was already assigned). This makes sense — receiving a deposit finalises the invoice.

How are VAT and accounting handled for deposits?

A paid deposit generates its own income transaction, dated on the deposit day, so VAT becomes due in the correct period (Belgian rule). When you later mark the final invoice as paid, only the remaining net is recorded, never the full amount, to avoid any double counting.

Where can I find all my deposit invoices?

In the Billing menu, a "Deposits" tab lists all your deposit invoices with a column showing which invoice each is linked to. Deposits do not appear in the Peppol invoices list, which is reserved for B2B invoices.
